NUTRITION Have always loved to cook. Mother taught me at a very young age and since we had a big family, would have each of the kids take turns on different nights or weekend mornings. She has always been ahead of her time in that she cooked healthy and was into nutrition before it was a "trend." I was lucky to learn at a very early age what the body really needed to function on to perform properly and benefit. When I got older I realized I wanted other things that I did not grow up on (especially the desserts, I have a mean sweet tooth) but like my mother, could change the recipe or portion of things to make it more nutritious. Always believe in a balance of things. Indulge in what you want - within reason. If you like fried foods then have it - but once or twice a week. Make it something that you look forward to and earn. Be sensible the rest of the week and it will be easy to reach those fitness goals. On this site you will find various types of recipes (meat dishes, breakfast, snacks, etc.) that give you protein, low glycemic carbs (which your body will burn through slowly giving you sustained energy), proper amount of unsaturated fat and still be tasty and easy to prepare. Hope you enjoy!
