As
a kid, I always loved the look of the female bodybuilders
such a Rachel McClish, Carla Dunlap, Gladys Portuguese. Thought
that they were very feminine and liked that they had some
muscle. Of course I was scared to death of putting on too
much muscle. I know now that just about every woman thinks
that way when starting out and it is an impossibility.
In a four week period I trained and
dieted for one of the first figure competitions, pretty much
flying by the seat of my pants. Came in 2nd out of 22. I decided
that I wanted more. The female bodybuilding scene was changing.
The judges were calling for more feminine physiques. I thought
muscle was beautiful if it was presented in a feminine way
and wanted to show that it could be all that. I had made up
my mind that if I didn’t get too far with my look because
either I didn’t carry enough muscle, was too soft, or
too feminine then that was OK. I would try to take it as far
as I could.
So there began my journey and I haven’t
looked back since. I am very happy with my progress so far
and continue to take it to another competition level. My first
two bodybuilding competitions I came in first in my class
(lightweight) and overall. My first national competition (not
a pro-qualifier), the Jr. USA’s, I came in second. It
has made me hungrier for more. I hope all of you will look
for me in future competitions as I try to refine my physique,
build my symmetry and continue to make female bodybuilding
as feminine as possible.
This section has my competition, competition
prep and off-season pictures.
