| As
a youngster, I discovered a love for dance, especially ballet
and by the time I was a teen, I was traveling into Manhattan
to take lessons from the best teachers. I decided not to go
into dancing as a profession, but realized the discipline
and performing on stage would be a passion that would remain
inside me. After a couple of years as a public relations account
executive in New York City, I yearned for a physical and mental
challenge.
As I started
working out for the first time (I had always stayed in shape
by performing and dance classes alone) and seeing results,
I knew I could take it to another level. It became my new
passion. On top of that, I loved teaching others what I had
learned thru research and the guidance of other trainers and
fitness competitors. After I became certified, I went into
business for myself and tried my hand at a competition.
Figure
competitions were just coming out - I dieted for a couple
of weeks and stepped on stage again, winning 2nd place out
of twenty women. Wanting again to take things to another level,
I took on a bodybuilding competition, winning my class (lightweight)
and overall.
As I continue
to build my business and compete, I look forward to constantly
learning new things about my field and sport in addition to
meeting people with all types of fitness/health goals I can
influence and enrich their life.
